Best time to visit and Northern Lights
Northern Lights in Lapland are visible from late August to early April. The best chances are in autumn and late winter when nights are long and often clear. Winter brings snow, cold and temperatures down to minus 30 degrees. Spring offers longer daylight, autumn shows the colours of Ruska, and summer is marked by the midnight sun with long days and mild climate.

The nearest airport is Rovaniemi. Finnair operates year-round flights via Helsinki, with additional direct flights from Central Europe in the winter season. Rental cars are available directly at the airport. On request, we organise a rental car including transfer for our guests.

Proper clothing is essential. In Ranua, complete winter sets including overalls, boots, gloves and headgear can be rented from around 30 euros per day. We arrange reservations on request. Recommended in addition are merino base layers, warm socks, layered gloves and a headlamp.
